Our name comes from a local Mykonian tradition and a piece of folklore: the nickname. Over the years, these nicknames have followed old Mykonian families just like a last name.

Leipsos, Leipsi—meaning something that is missing, something not quite whole. It comes from the homemade bread of our great-grandmother, Belonia, whose loaves were always just a bit smaller than those of the other women on the island.
